Q. I would like to establish a credit line for my cleaning service, but my personal credit score is poor due to filing bankruptcy last year. DUNS numbers are expensive to obtain and of course, the more they add to your credit file the more expensive it gets. I believe the cheapest rate I saw was nearly $400.00. Any way around using my personal score or paying for an expensive DUNS number? Asked by chinchy101 - Mon Jun 8 11:56:30 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Bankruptcy last year? Answered by skwonripken - Tue May 15 22:55:59 2007 What are the financial requirements to the Good Neighbor Program by HUD? Is it ok to have bad credit ?
Q. I looked all over the HUD site and it says nothing about credit worthiness. The only requirement Ive seen is that you must hold a law enforcement, teacher or medical tech position and remain in the house for 36 months. This, in my eyes is too good to be true. I have a strong feeling that credit plays a factor in this somewhere. does anyone have any additional information? Asked by wdbxny411 - Thu Jul 24 11:45:19 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Too good to be true -- not really. After all, these houses are located in the crappiest of neighborhoods. That's why the HUD website has this phrase --- "HUD's Good Neighbor Next Door initiative designed to encourage renewal of revitalization areas" --- I've seen some of the houses HUD offers for this program in Washington DC, and they are in the worst neighborhoods -- high crime rate, ghetto look, lots of bums, etc. HUD requires that you sign a second mortgage and note for the discount amount. When you apply for a mortgage, it's a given that they will check your credit I suggest you call them up and clarify the requirements as well as the procedures.
